Girl Scouts plan second Cookies & Cocktails gala

NEW ORLEANS — Girl Scout cookies will be the inspiration once again for Girl Scouts Louisiana East’s “Cookies & Cocktails” gala set Feb. 20, 2016, at Generations Hall in New Orleans. Theme for this year’s gala is “An Evening in Paris” with a patron party at 6 p.m. and the gala at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to fund ongoing programs for Girl Scouts throughout southeast Louisiana.
“Last year’s event was such a success that we’re moving to a larger location, Generations Hall,” said Stephanie Osborne, who returns for a second year with event co-chair Dr. Allison Augustus-Wallace.
Twenty chefs and bartenders from New Orleans’ best restaurants will treat guests to one-of-a kind appetizers, cocktails and desserts, made from Girl Scout Cookies. As guests sample the chefs’ creations, patrons will also have access to an open bar, music from Papa C & the Slammin’ Horns, a Parisian-themed photo booth, and an exciting silent auction.
“Money raised from this fundraiser will help girls get the leadership and social skills they need to make a positive difference in their communities,” said Osborne.
According to Osborne, celebrity judges will crown the Judge’s Choice champion while gala guests will select the People’s Choice. Emcee is WGNO’s News with a Twist reporter Kenny Lopez.
Tickets are $100 per person, or $125 for the patron party, and can be purchased online at www.gsle.org. Sponsorships and silent auction items are needed.
