Lions Club Camp applications available

Morgan City Lions Club is accepting applications for special needs youth to attend summer camp. There is no cost to the family of campers.
Louisiana Lions Camp, located north of Leesville, will open June 2. There will several sessions held including — a one week session for youth ages 5 to 15 with pulmonary disorders, two one-week sessions for mild mentally challenged youth ages 8 to 19, two one-week sessions for youth with diabetes ages 6 to 14 and two one-week sessions for visual, hearing and orthopedically impaired youth ages 7 to 19.
—Session 1, June 1 to 7: Louisiana Lions, Louisiana Pulmonary Disease, Camp Pelican (*).
—Pre-camp: Summer staff training week, June 8 to 14.
—Session 2, June 15 to 21: Mentally challenged youth.
—Session 3, June 22 to 28: Mentally challenged youth.
—Session 4, June 29 to July 5: Physically challenged youth.
—Session 5, July 6 to 12: Physically challenged youth.
—Session 6, July 13 to 19: Diabetic youth(**).
—Session 7, July 20 to 26:; Diabetic youth(**).
(*) Children for this session are assigned by LPDI staff.
(**) Children for these sessions are assigned by American Diabetes Association, Louisiana Affiliate.
All campers are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications must be received by May 15. Contact Morgan City Lions Club’s Dianne Baillargeon at 985-399-6068.
