Locals attend Mystick Krewe of Louisianians events in D.C.

Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival Queen Hailee Thomas was among the queens that attended the Mystick Krewe of Louisianians Mardi Gras Ball in Washington, D.C., Jan. 21-24.
They met in Baton Rouge at the Governor’s Mansion for a reception hosted by Gov. Bobby Jindal and first lady Supriya Jindal before flying to Washington, D.C.
While in Washington, she toured the U.S. Capitol and visited area congressmen. Thomas attended a King’s Luncheon with the entire Louisiana congressional delegation and royal court. She also attended a tea hosted by Sen. Bill Cassidy’s wife, Laura.
On Jan. 22, Thomas attended the Louisiana Alive Party featuring food and music from Louisiana. During her stay, she and Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival King Mike Patterson toured Arlington Cemetery where they placed a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknowns and witnessed the changing of the guard.
She also toured the Vietnam, Lincoln and Korean War memorials. She had lunch at the Sulgrave Club followed by The Krewe of Mystick’s dinner and dance.
At the Mardi Gras Ball, Thomas was presented in full regalia along with other Louisiana festival queens. The ball was followed by a Royal Breakfast hosted by Queen Amelia Grace Zepernick.
