Hostesses for Bayou Vista Garden Club’s January meeting were Mary Myers, left, and Ann Breaux. They created a mass arrangement using pink oriental lilies, alstroemeria and carnations, yarrow, foliage and votive candles.

Marcel is Bayou Vista Garden Club speaker

“Dress It Up” was the theme for Bayou Vista Garden Club’s January meeting.
Nancy Marcel, designer for Town & Country Florist in Berwick, demonstrated how to prepare potted plants for delivery using a Peace Lily and an arrowhead vine. She also instructed members on how to make a bow.
Each member received the ribbon and materials necessary to prepare individual bows following Marcel’s demonstration. Her completed arrangements were donated by Marcel as door prizes. Winners were Gloria Roy and Janice Verret.
Hostesses for the meeting were Ann Breaux and Mary Myers. They created a floral design, “Waiting for Spring.” The mass arrangement included pink oriental lilies, alstroemeria and carnations, yarrow and foliage. Votive candles highlighted the arrangement. The club’s door prize winner was Marcel.
The club’s next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Bayou Vista Community Center. New members are welcome to attend.
