Parish library starts Summer Reading Program June 2

The St. Mary Parish Library invites children to explore a good book at their local branch of the St. Mary Parish Library during its 2014 Summer Reading Program. Themes this year include “Fizz Boom Read,” “Spark a Reaction” and “Literary Elements.”
The program officially kick offs June 2 — the first day everyone can check out books that will count towards minutes for the Summer Reading Program.
Don’t have a library card? The Library said the kick off day is a great time to get a library card. All ages are welcome to participate.
A calendar of events will be on hand for everyone that registers. Adults are encouraged by the Library to keep up their reading minutes as well with "Literary Elements."
The last day to turn in reading minutes will be July 11.
St. Mary Parish Library has Tri-City area branches in Amelia, Bayou Vista, Berwick and Patterson.
