Patterson Garden Club holds March meeting

Patterson Garden Club held its monthly meeting March 8 at the home of Iris Roy.
Evelyn Estay presented the program “Attractive Annuals” with a discussion of available colorful plants that flourish in Louisiana. Impatiens, verbenas, begonias, petunias and others can make an attractive focus for pot plants or beds of the home, she said.
The business meeting, led by President Juanita Bienvenu, included discussions of an April 2 field trip to Jefferson Island to visit the gardens. Plans are being made to carpool.
Club members plan to help parents spruce up flowerbeds at Hattie Watts Elementary in Patterson. A Spring Door Decorating Contest at Watts, sponsored by the club, will be in May after holidays and testing.
Co-hostesses were Ginger Griffin, Fedora Boudreaux and Hannah Boudreaux. The table was adorned with a bougainvillea and Easter decorations.
Half-and-half drawing winner was Hannah Boudreaux.
