Patterson Garden Club meets
The home of Iris Roy was the site of the Patterson Garden Club Nov. 12 meeting and social held. Hostesses were Fedora Boudreaux and Juanita Bienvenu.
Theme for the meeting was “Making Christmas Decorations.” With guest speaker Gary Bullock, a florist at Town & Country Florist. He entertained and educated his audience on techniques for arrangements and on the newest Christmas décor and color trends for the holidays.
During the business portion of the meeting Leann and Gerry Dumont were announced as the November Yard of the Month winner. Iris Roy and Linda Thomas discussed Blue Star Marker Ceremony that was held Nov. 8 in conjunction with Veterans Day. President Sandra Marshall discussed the success of the District 3 Fall Luncheon that the club hosted Oct. 15 at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
With the holiday season approaching there are several upcoming events that were on the agenda for discussion. On Dec. 2, garden club members will help decorate for the Patterson Healthcare Center for Christmas.
The club’s Christmas social will be held Dec. 17. Members were reminded to bring an unwrapped gift for Toys for Tots.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Evelyn Estay won the half-and-half drawing, and Ginger Griffin won the door prize — an arrangement by Bullock.
