Ragin’ Cajun homecoming schedule has many events

LAFAYETTE — Ragin’ Cajun fans have plenty of ways to celebrate the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s 2013 homecoming, according to the university’s news release.
This week is packed with activities that include a golf tournament, a road race and the traditional parade on Homecoming Day Saturday. This year’s homecoming theme is “Best Homecoming Week Ever.”
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns will face the New Mexico State Aggies at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 at Cajun Field.
Homecoming events include:
—Wednesday, Oct. 30: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., College of Nursing Alumni Chapter reception, Alumni Center.
—Friday, Nov. 1: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., tennis tournament, Red Lerille’s Health and Racquet Club;  11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Bill Bass Open Golf Tournament, Les Vieux Chenes Golf Course; 5:30 p.m., Paint the Town Red — Downtown Alive!, UL Lafayette homecoming pep rally at Parc International, with a performance by 5th Avenue;  6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Ragin’ Cajuns Lettermen Club Hall of Fame reception, Alumni Center.
—Saturday, Nov. 2: 8 a.m., Ragin’ One Mile Fun Run and Ragin’ Road Race (5K run/walk), Alumni Center; , 9 a.m. to noon, open house, Alumni Center;   10 a.m. to noon, homecoming parade, viewing at Alumni Center; noon to 4 p.m., Home Economics Alumni Chapter 75th Anniversary celebration, University Research Park near the Picard Center; noon, Red Jackets reunion, Alumni Center; 1 p.m., Alumni Association Tailgating Party, Cajun Field; 4 p.m., game; and 8 p.m., Christiana Smith Chapter’s “Sweet Sounds of Sharing,” Alumni Center.
