St. Mary AARP February meeting is hypnotic

St. Mary AARP Mardi Gras King and Queen XXVII Laurie Vining and Rebecca Vining were recognized at the St. Mary AARP Feb. 2 meeting.
Sponsors for the meeting were Twin City Funeral Home and Patterson State Bank. Meal cooks Floyd and Shirley Hymel prepared chili. In observance of Mardi Gras, king cake was dessert.
Entertainment for the night was provided by hypnotist Tracy Vining. Members volunteered to be Vining’s subjects.
Prior to the meeting, Hubert Francis provided music for dancing and members played bingo.
In other St. Mary AARP business:
—Members were reminded that final payment for the Niagara Falls trip is due March 9.
—The next meeting will be Monday. Sponsor will be Urgent Care of Morgan City and Atchafalaya ObGyn. The meal will be white beans.
