Storyteller to visit Bayou Vista Library July 1

Storyteller Kuniko Yamamoto will take part in the St. Mary Parish Library Summer Reading Program. She will present dramatic storytelling using myths and fables from ancient and modern Japan, spiced with social revelations to educate and amuse. Yamamoto uses traditional Japanese music, handcrafted masks, stylized movement and a touch of magic to create an artistic balance of illusion and reality. She was trained in dance and traditional arts in her native Osaka, Japan. Bayou Vista Branch Library will host Yamamoto at 10 a.m. July 1.
