Thomas busy promoting S&P Festival
Hailee Ann Thomas, 79th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival queen, has been traveling to promote the local festival. On Oct. 18, she attended the Queen’s Day events, ball, pageant and the International Rice Festival in Crowley. Some of the events included touring city hall, Cajun Country Rice Mill and a rice farm. At the Rice Research Station she participated in a sack sewing contest, top photo. Thomas also attended the Festival of the Bonfires events Nov. 29 and Dec.13 in Lutcher. Festivities included queens making ornaments at the Poche’ Plantation in Convent, Thomas making a Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum-themed sled to slid down the levee and watching the bonfires being lighted.
