Washburn enjoys storm aftermath

Anna Leigh Washburn, the 80th Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum queen, was in Washington, D.C., for the Mystick Krewe of Louisianians annual Mardi Gras ball when winter storm Jonas dumped nearly 18 inches of snow. With the arrival of the historic snow storm on Saturday, most attendees were snowed in until late Monday. Washburn took advantage of the extra day to promote the Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival to many Washington, D.C., residents and visitors, and to make a snow-queen in Lafayette Square located in front of the White House.
