Nursing teamwork award

Terrebonne General Medical Center honors Leah Porche, RN, Amie Chauvin, RN, Cherokee Davis, CNA, Paige Martinez, RN, and Sarah Chauvin, RN, with the DAISY Team Award for Extraordinary Nursing Teamwork. These five nurses cared for a patient who was battling a wound infection and had to spend a month in the hospital receiving treatment. The nurses spent extra time visiting with the patient and even decorated her room for a holiday and celebrated her birthday with a cake and balloons. The patient is out of the hospital and doing well and refers to the nurses as her extended family whom she will cherish forever.
