‘Mutt Strut’ gets new fest activities

The Franklin Harvest Moon Festival committee will introduce two new events at the festival set for Oct. 25.
There will be a Mutt Strut Costume Contest and a Mutt Strut and Golf Cart parade.
Participants are invited to enter their dog dressed in the costume of their choice.
No Pit bulls will be allowed and all dogs must be people-friendly and maintained on a leash at all times. Following the contest, participants will have the opportunity for their pet to “Strut their Stuff” in the parade.
Golf carts entered in the parade must be decorated in a theme. The parade route will run from the corner of First Street and Adams Street, to Main Street, turn right through downtown Franklin and ending at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse.
The parade line up will be at 1:30 p.m. at the corner of Adams Street and First Street where the “Mutts” will be judged. The parade begins at 2 p.m.. Applications for the Mutt Strut Costume Contest and the Mutt Strut and Golf Cart Parade can be picked up at Fad News Stand, Main Street Cafe’ or downloaded from the website, www.franklinharvestmoonfest.com.
