3 students earn parish recognition

Three St. Mary Parish public school students were recognized as Students of the Year.
They are Asia Arielle Starling, fifth grade, Bayou Vista Elementary; Taaj Daniels, eighth grade, Morgan City Junior High; and Kloe’ Liner, 12th grade, Morgan City High.
The students demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and citizenship, St. Mary Parish Superintendent of Schools Donald Aguillard said.
One student is chosen from the elementary, junior high and high school levels.
Parish winners will participate in the regional competition Feb. 19.
The Students of the Year Award Program is sponsored by the Louisiana state superintendent through the State Department of Education and the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.

12th grade
—Olivia Gilbert, Berwick High.
