Ballroom dancing lessons offered

Banner-Tribune

The City of Franklin will offer ballroom dancing classes at the Franklin Recreation Center Nov. 3 and Nov. 10.
Each class will be two hours, from 5 to 7 p.m. The first class will be a ballroom dance class; the second class will feature Latin dances.
“The classes are a good way to prepare for formal events such as debutante balls, weddings and Mardi Gras balls,” said Community Development Director Arlana Shields.
Registration began Wednesday in City Hall and ends at noon Oct. 31. The cost is $20 per person per class. Payment is due at the time of registration. Only checks will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to KG Rhythm. Email registration will not be offered for this program.
The classes will be taught by KG Rhythm, which is a ballroom dance studio in Lafayette owned by Krickett Goutreaux.
The instructors recommend that dancers do not wear athletic shoes because they inhibit proper foot placement and dance technique.
