Battery, attempted murder suspects on list

By ZACHARY FITZGERALD zfitzgerald@daily-review.com

A 25-year-old Berwick man wanted for punching a 16-year-old male in the face and breaking his jaw is among the new additions to December’s Daily Review Most Wanted edition.
The Most Wanted list is published monthly with submissions from parish police and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
St. Mary Parish Sheriff
Cody Paul Pearce, 25, whose last known address is River Road in Berwick, is wanted on a warrant for second degree battery.
On Nov. 10, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 16-year-old male who had been punched in the face and sustained a broken jaw as a result of the attack, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said in a news release. The investigation revealed that the incident occurred on Nov. 7 when the victim was visiting a friend’s residence on Hunting Road in Ricohoc. Pearce, who was also at the residence, pushed the victim and then punched him, Hebert said.
Investigators received information that Pearce may possibly be in the Stephensville area, according to Hebert.
Previously featured suspects Larry Dean Robertson Jr., Andre Jones and Belinda Ann Arceneaux are still wanted. Robertson is wanted for armed robbery and for failure to appear on the charge of simple robbery. Jones is wanted for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Arceneaux is wanted on six warrants for issuing worthless checks.

He is wanted for attempted second degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm in a firearm free zone. Kenner was first featured in October. The warrants stem from a shooting Oct. 21 when two people were injured after gunshots were fired near the intersection of Orange Street and Federal Avenue, Crouch said.
The Oct. 21 shooting was an ongoing dispute believed to be about retaliation with victims also turning out to be suspects, Crouch said last week.
On Dec. 17, St. Mary Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Donald R. Assisting Franklin police, St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives and a deputy with the sheriff’s Warrants Division located Brown at a residence on Chatsworth Road in Franklin, Hebert said.

Brown sustained a non-life threatening wound to his side and was taken to Teche Regional Medical Center. Charles suffered a wound to his leg, Crouch said.
