Bayou L'Ourse man dies in 60-foot fall

A 44-year-old Bayou L’Ourse man died after he fell about 60 feet from a platform Tuesday while working at recycling company in Gibson, Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office Maj. Malcolm Wolfe said.
At 9:08 a.m. Tuesday, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a man falling 55 to 60 feet at Modern American Recycling Service located in the 400 block of Powhattan Court in Gibson, Wolfe said.
The victim, James Patrick Lafleur, 44, of the 100 block of Honey Lane in Bayou L’Ourse, was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center where he later died, Wolfe said.
Sheriff’s deputies determined the incident to be an industrial accident, Wolfe said.
