Bronson Blanchard’s announcement follows.
I, Bronson Blanchard, am a 35-year-old resident of Patterson, where my family and I made our home eight years ago. I am seeking election on Nov. 4 as constable of Ward 5 in St. Mary Parish (Patterson School District). I’m committed to making your voice heard. I want to play an active role in making our community a safer place to raise children, run a business, and forge a future filled with unlimited promises.
As a 1997 top 25 graduate of Morgan City High School, I was a member of Mu Sigma, played football, ran cross-country, and was a member of the first JROTC class at MCHS. Following my high school career, I attended Nicholls State University for legal assistance. I now have a project management diploma from Ashworth College and I’m currently pursuing a private investigation diploma through them. Continuing my law background as a reserve police officer in Patterson, I attended the reserve police academy finishing as “Top Cop” in my class out of 35 officers with a 98 percent final exam and took “Top Gun” on day and night shooting. During the academy, I was also qualified for radar, use of force, crash reports, domestic violence, high risk building entries, juvenile law, crime scene investigations, fingerprinting techniques, legal aspects, basic k-9 operations, firearms handling and training, chemical weapons familiarization, rapid deployment or active shooter and was trained and certified for the use of a Taser.
My fulltime employment background spans 15 years in the oil field. I work for Cameron on land here in Patterson for a great team as a customer service specialist where I handle several customer accounts and manage their equipment. My schedule is 7-5 weekly meaning I’ll be available when needed to serve court appointed orders when needed as your constable and attend monthly city council meetings to voice the community’s questions and concerns when needed.
I’ve voluntarily served the community of Patterson proudly and professionally at community functions, patrolled the neighborhoods, assisted in several water patrol rescue operations and look forward to forming a water patrol unit as constable in our community. I enjoy fishing, hunting, spending time with my family and one of my biggest passions is coaching baseball and football with the local youth, which I have been doing voluntarily for over eight years now.
As I have announced to the community already I’ll be donating all of my constable’s salary back to support causes I feel need support. I’ve decided to donate 25 percent to the American Cancer Society, 25 percent to Adullum Household of Faith, 25 percent to local youth recreation and 25 percent to Project Graduation for Patterson High School.
As you all can tell I’m not in it for the money. I’m “in it to win it” for the community. These causes that I am donating back to do not fall under a stipulation that says if someone gets cancer, if a kid plays recreational sports, if a child has a parent that gets incarcerated or if a student decides to graduate. When you elect me on Nov. 4 and when my term starts in 2015 I will have an account set up for these causes as soon as I take office.
If you share my visions for change in our community, please connect with me and help make it happen by voting for me on Nov. 4. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for our families and our community. I am eager, confident and will be dedicated to working with you, the community. Thank you in advance, all your support is and forever will be appreciated.
