Blessing of the pets

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church hosted its annual Blessing of the Animals Sunday. The outdoor worship service celebrates the animals with whom people share their lives. The church blesses animals each fall to commemorate the feast of St Francis of Assisi. The Rev. Calvin Lane blessed the guest of honor, Bubba, pictured above, as well as several other animals on the terrace of the Trowbridge House on First Street.
