Blue moon over Louisiana

Daily Review photographer Crystal Thielepape captured this shot of Friday night’s blue moon near DeRidder. While there are many definitions for a blue moon -- some of them whoppers -- the most authoritative one these days says a blue moon is the second full moon in one calendar month. “Once in a blue moon” means something rare, and blue moons are. The next one won’t appear until 2018.
