CAA annual meeting Friday

The St. Mary Community Action Agency Inc. Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer Almetra J. Franklin invite community residents and organizations to the agency’s 49th Annual Membership Committee meeting Friday.
This year’s theme is “Changing with the Times,” and the Pavilion at Cypress Bayou Casino and Hotel in Charenton. is once again the location for the gala from 6-9 p.m.
This year the agency is honoring the Dad of the Year, Head Start Parents and Parent of the Year. For nearly 50 years, St. Mary CAA has served St. Mary and Vermilion parishes, including low-income children, the elderly and families. The agency currently employs nearly 200 employees and provides over 6,200 services in many program areas including housing, economic development, early childcare, transportation, and family services.
Co-chairs David Teno and Jane Melancon, along with a committee of staff members, are coordinating the annual meeting, while Board Member Reverend Carl Lewis and Policy Council Member Latonya Paul are this year’s chairpersons.
Sponsorships for table reservations are currently available at a cost of $350 per table. General Admission tickets are $30 for general admission and $25 for all senior citizens. Tickets are available until the day of the event. For more information, contact Summers Jones at (337) 828-5703.
