A truck carrying cement septic tanks lost some of its cargo and shut down an east-bound lane of traffic on U.S. 90 near Amelia Thursday afternoon for nearly two hours, according to St. Mary Parish Sheriff spokeswoman Traci Landry. The Amelia Volunteer Fire Department assisted in cleaning up the debris. The investigation was turned over to the Department of Transportation and Development, Landry said.
