Central Catholic seniors graduate tonight

Central Catholic High School’s Class of 2016 will graduate at 6 p.m. today at Holy Cross Church.
The school has named its salutatorian and valedictorians.
The salutatorian is Patrick Louis Barron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carey Barron.
Barron has been a member of the Central Catholic baseball team that won the Class 1A state championship Saturday and went to the semifinals in two previous years. He’s a two-year member of the National Honor Society, a four-time Academic All-District Award recipient and a four-year letterman.
He plans to attend LSU to study information systems and decision sciences.
Valedictorians are Lindsee Catherine Case, Jordan Lee Morvant, Emma Daice Thomas and Tanner Joseph Wiggins.
Case, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ree Case, was Student Council executive president during her senior year.
Her accomplishments include the Diocesan Leadership Award and Louisiana Girls State. She’s a member of the National Honor Society and retreat team and was Central Catholic prom queen. She lettered in volleyball and tennis and made the Academic All-State Composite Teams in volleyball and tennis in her senior year.
She was Student of the Year. She plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and major in biology.
Morvant, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Morvant, is a KWBJ Shining Star and was a member of the 2015 state champion softball team.
She’s a two-year member of the National Honor Society and was on the Academic All-State Softball Composite Team. She served as 2015-16 Executive Student Council secretary.
She plans to attend ULL to study petroleum engineering.
Thomas is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Thomas.
She was the 2015 homecoming queen and is a Diocesan Youth Leadership Award-winner. She was named WAFB Best of Class, a Wendy’s Heisman School winner and a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Award. She was a National Honor Society member for two years.
She was the girls singles regional tennis champion in 2011 and a member of the swim team. She was the cheerleading co-captain during her senior year.
She plans to study kinesiology at LSU and to become an occupational therapist.
Wiggins is the son of Jarrod and Andreé LeBlue Wiggins.
He is a member of the National Honor Society and was elected the Class of 2016’s senior class president.
He lettered in football and basketball and was chosen captain for the All-American Bowl Game at Southeastern Louisiana University.
He will attend ULL, where he will play football this fall while majoring in political science with a concentration in pre-law.
