Chamber luncheon to celebrate 3 longtime businesses

Staff Report

Three businesses that have been community fixtures for decades will be honored at the July 9 St. Mary Parish Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon to be held at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City.
L-H Printing is knocking on the door of a century of service in the area, with a pair of Morgan City locations to celebrate the company’s 90th year of existence.
Founded in 1964, Oceaneering has grown from an air and mixed gas diving business in the Gulf of Mexico to a diversified, advanced applied technology organization operating around the world. The company will be honored for its 50th year in business.
Another 50-year-old company was started by Gerry and Eileen Lind as a food distribution business to service the offshore oil industry. G&J Land & Marine Food Distributors Inc. in Morgan City started out in 1964 as a 10-employee operation that has grown to a 100-employee, 50,000-square-foot organization with more than 20 trucks.
The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a representative from Louisiana Oil & Gas Association as a guest speaker.
Tickets are available by calling either chamber office at 985-384-3830 or 337-828-4100 extension 370.
Conrad Industries Inc. is the sponsor of the luncheon.
The chamber encourages members to contact it if they have an anniversary coming up so the business can be highlighted at a chamber event.
