Chili Champs

The bailiff security team led by cook Ken Zimmer grabbed bragging rights Tuesday in the first chili cook off at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. Nine teams from various departments competed in the event. On the winning team above from left are Don Wiggins, Oray Rogers, Ken Zimmer and Vanessa Hawkins. Some of the cooks below from left were Ramona Landry from the Economic Development Department; Corrine Thornton, DA’s Office; Judge Vincent Borne; Sheriff Mark Hebert; and Heloise LeBlanc representing Clerk of Court Cliff Dressel. Cooks not pictured included Assessor Jarrod K. Longman; Duval Arthur representing the parish council; and Becky Gautreaux, LSU Ag Center, NRCS and USDA. Judges were Greg Aucoin of Morgan City, Preston Gill of the Daily-Review and Deborah McClarity of the St. Mary School Board.
