Coastal outreach coordinator named

The Louisiana Wildlife Federation has hired Chris Tricou, a Baton Rouge native and businessman and lifelong sportsman, as its new coastal outreach coordinator.
Rebecca Triche, federation executive director, said in a news release, “Chris brings to LWF an impressive record of creativity and success in several small businesses in Louisiana.”
Triche continued, “His experience matched with a passion for outdoor recreation will be a great addition to LWF’s partnership in the Vanishing Paradise campaign and extend LWF’s network of sportsmen and women focused on Louisiana’s coastal restoration and wildlife conservation.”
Prior to joining LWF, Tricou served as a salesman and general manager of several locations of his family’s business for more than a decade. He also worked at LSU’s Department of Agriculture assisting in a study of lesser scaup.
Tricou holds a bachelor of science in zoology and spent his final semester studying rain forest ecology in the Costa Rican rainforest. He has extensive biological field experience, including serving as a wildlife manager on a local privately-held farm.
Tricou is an avid kayak fisherman, boater, hunter, and birder. He is an active member of the Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club and has advocated for the sport since 2005.
The Louisiana Wildlife Federation is a statewide conservation education and advocacy organization with more than 8,500 members and 25 affiliate groups. Established in 1940, it is affiliated with the National Wildlife Federation and represents a broad constituency of conservationists including hunters, fishers, campers, birders, boaters and other outdoor enthusiasts.
