Dixie Youth games moved
The remainder of the Louisiana Dixie Youth AAA Minors and Majors North Regional has been moved to the Bayou Vista Community Center due to rain and inclement field conditions at Caffery Park in Franklin.
The tournament was hampered by rain for much of the weekend, with Friday’s start times being pushed back first to Saturday morning and later Saturday afternoon and on Sunday, teams had to battle rain and length contests preceding them.
Seth Thomas, one of the tournament directors, said because the South Sabine-West Monroe 10-year-old contest, which started didn’t start till after midnight and didn’t end until about 3 a.m. today after going until extra inning, ended so late, there will be some adjustments to the tournament bracket.
Now, South Sabine, which was scheduled to play Patterson at 3 p.m., will face Patterson at 5 p.m.
Instead, two 12-year-old contests will be played at 3 p.m. — Franklin will face West Ouachita and Franklinton Americans will meet Alexandria.
At 5 p.m., 10-year-old action will commence with Patterson facing South Sabine and Franklinton Americans meeting Morgan City.
At 7 p.m., Shreveport Americans will meet West Monroe South in the 10-year-old contest and DeQuincy will play West Ouachita in 12-year-old action.
