St. Mary Outreach in Morgan City received a holiday donation of $6,238.50 Tuesday afternoon from Cote Blanche Salt Mine in Iberia Parish. The donation was the result of Cote Blanche Mines recent “hoist day” in which more than 12,000 tons of salt was produced. The mine donated $1 for each ton to local food banks. The contribution will help benefit needy families during the holiday season and throughout the year.
