Early vote starts Sat.

Registrar of Voters Jolene Holcombe reports that early voting for the Oct. 19 election begins on Saturday and continues through Saturday, Oct. 12.
Hours for early voting are 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Early voting will be conducted at the Registrar’s office on the third floor of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin and also at the Registrar’s branch office in Morgan City at 301 Third St. Voters may vote early in either office regardless of their address.
The following issues are on the ballot:
—Alderman, Town of Baldwin – Special election to fill unexpired term.
—Fifth Ward Special School District No. 1: Bond Proposition for the issue $21 million general obligation bonds for 20 years.
—Wax Lake East Drainage District: Renewal of 3.2 mill property tax for 10 years.
—Gravity Sub-Drainage Dist. 1 of the Gravity Drainage Dist. 2: Tax renewal of 9.95 mills property tax for 10 years.
—Recreation District 1: Renewal of 3 mill property tax for 10 years.
