Early vote wraps up

St. Mary Parish Voters cast 3,296 ballots during statewide early voting that ended Saturday.
Of those voters, 2,452 were white and 797 were African-American, while 47 others were identified as “other.”
Men accounted for 1,486 votes and women 1,810.
Some 1,654 Democrats cast ballots, 1,150 Republicans and 492 “other” registered voters.
The election is set for Oct. 24.
