Friday afternoon wreck in Morgan City (updated)

An SUV flipped on Brashear Avenue Friday afternoon after a truck struck it, Morgan City Police spokesman Capt. James Blair said. Police received a call at 2:02 p.m. Friday of a Ford Explorer being driven in a reckless manner on Fourth Street, Blair said. As officers were en route to the location, the Explorer crossed Brashear Avenue without yielding and was struck in the side by a Dodge Ram truck traveling on Brashear Avenue, Blair said. The Explorer then flipped on its side, Blair said. Acadian Ambulance was called to the scene, but both drivers refused medical attention, Blair said. The driver of the Ford Explorer was cited for careless operation of a moving vehicle with an accident, Blair said.
