FSHS names top graduates

Three top graduates will lead commencement exercises of Franklin Senior High School’s Class of 2015 at 6 p.m. tonight in the school auditorium.
Ne’Keiah Gibson, the daughter of Nicole Gibson and Frederick Gibson, is graduating with a 3.98 grade point average. Her activities in school have included participation in volleyball, cheerleading and softball while also serving as manager of the baseball and basketball teams. She has received a full scholarship from Xavier University as well as scholarships from Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Hilcorp Energy and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Other achievements include winning the Best Overall Dancer title at the Southwestern Cheerleaders Association’s 2014 Summer Camp, being named a Word Millionaire, membership in National Honor Society and enrollment in the Gifted Program. She will attend Xavier University in New Orleans to major in biology- pre-med with eyes on becoming a cardiologist
Landon D. Landry, the son of Scott and Kara Landry, is graduating with a 3.90 grade point average. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Rocket Team and has taken part in the meat processing program. He has qualified for the state TOPS scholarship award and will be attending Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, to major in mechanical engineering.
Natalie Hughes, the daughter of Wanda Hughes and Donald Hughes, is graduating with a 3.88 grade point average. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has participated in theater, served on the Homecoming and Prom committees and assisted the baseball team manager. She’s also tutored elementary school children.
She will be attending Xavier University in New Orleans on full merit scholarship to major in chemistry and chemical engineering. She also received the Michael Payton Memorial Scholarship.
