Head Start recruitment is Wednesday

The St. Mary-Vermilion CAA Head Start Recruitment Fest for the 2015-16 school year will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Baby Bear Head Start Office, 710 Greenwood St., Morgan City.
The day will be filled with important information, music, food and fun, and games for the whole family!
We are accepting applications now and will continue until school starts.
Applications will also be taken at the Head Start Central Office, 1407 Barrow St. in Franklin and the centers by appointment.
Eligible children must be 3 and 4 years old on or before Sept. 30, 2015, and will be enrolled on a first come, first served basis according to the following selection criteria.
Call the center in your area for an appointment between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. When leaving a message, be sure to include the child’s name, birthday, and parent’s name and phone number. A family service worker will call you back to set up an appointment.

At the time of application parents must bring the child’s birth certificate, Social Security card, and up to date immunization record; proof of income (i.e. food stamp change/closure sheets, TANF printout, W-2 form, 1040/1040A); Medicaid card (if applicable) and a copy of child’s physical (preferably Kid Med) if one was taken within the last year or health insurance card (if applicable); documentation of disability and an IEP (if applicable); and proof of guardianship (if applicable).
