It's nesting time for Cayenne

The alligator dutifully watching over her nest on Tuesday is Cayenne Gator, who resides in the swamp behind the Cajun Coast Visitor and Convention Center in Morgan City. Cayenne laid her eggs within the last two weeks. They’ll hatch in about 65 days. Officials at the tourist center ask that visitors view the nest from a distance and do not disturb or throw things at her. Nesting alligators can be aggressive if annoyed.
