Jeanerette marshals crash during high-speed pursuit

Two Jeanerette Third Ward Court marshals were involved in a crash with a suspect they were chasing Thursday morning.
The wreck occurred after marshals tried to stop a vehicle driven by Trey Estelle, 23, of New Iberia on the US 90 frontage road near Pepper Road.
Reports indicate that Estelle’s girlfriend and two other women were in the vehicle, according to Third Ward Marshal Fernest Marin. One was wanted on unspecified warrants in St. Mary and in St. Martin Parish.
State police are investigating the crash. Estelle escaped on foot and has not been apprehended as of this morning. He is believed to be somewhere in St. Mary Parish.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting with the case.
