Kids can ‘Name the Robots’

Children ages 6 to 16 can submit “Name the Robots” suggestions for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff Office’s remote operated devices. These two robots, used to access places too dangerous for police, are funded through the Port Security Grant Program via FEMA. Youngsters can write in their own words what they would like the robots to be called and why. Names will be selected and the two winners will receive $100 Walmart gift cards. Entries can be submitted to the sheriff’s office on the fourth floor of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin. Deadline is July 21. Be sure to include name, address and phone number.
