La. 70 at Lake End Park closed due to diesel spill

La. 70 at Lake End Park was shut down and police diverted traffic through the park due to a diesel truck leaking fuel after the truck overturned this morning, police spokesman Capt. James Blair said.
Police received a call at 7:26 a.m. today of an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer overturned near Lake End Park on La. 70, Blair said. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and sustained minor injuries, Blair said.
The tractor-trailer was carrying 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel and was leaking, Blair said. Emergency personnel, including State Police, hazmat and cleanup crews were called to the scene, Blair said.
As of about 10:30 a.m. today, police expected cleanup to take several more hours, and traffic continued to be diverted through Lake End Park in both directions though 18-wheelers were not allowed to travel through the park, Blair said.
