La. gas prices creep slowly upward

Average retail gasoline prices in Louisiana have risen 0.8 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.46 per gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 2,436 gas outlets in Louisiana. This compares with the national average that has increased 0.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.75 gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Prices Sunday were 93.3 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 12.5 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 14.8 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 92.8 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
“Gasoline prices are poised to begin declining at a faster pace after staying relatively steady across much of the U.S. this past week,” said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy senior petroleum analyst. The Daily Review’s own check of gas prices showed:
—The average price per gallon for unleaded regular at 10 Morgan City stations was $2.538, ranging from $2.459 to $2.579.
—The average price at five Patterson stations was $2.607, ranging from $2.459 to $2.799.
—The average price at four Berwick stations was $2.519,ranging from $2.459 to $2.579.
