Local briefs: Wild Game Supper, Broussard at UBS

Keith Manuel will speak
at Wild Game Supper
The Men’s Wild Game Supper at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Bayou Vista Baptist Church gym will benefit the Gulf Coast Baptist Association Disaster Relief Fun.
The cost is a $10 donation. Children 13 and under will be admitted free. Many door prizes will be given away.
The guest speaker will be Keith Manuel, evangelism associate with the Louisiana Baptist Convention. He is a native of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, but has spent most of his time serving in ministry throughout Louisiana.
Before serving with the state convention, Manuel served for many years at Calvary Baptist Church in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina hit during Manuel’s service at Calvary and he led his church to become a major hub for out-of-state teams that came in to do relief work throughout the New Orleans area during that time.

Wilma Broussard will lead
United Blood Services efforts
United Blood Services announces that Wilma Broussard is its new district director of field operations. Broussard, based in Lafayette, will lead the district’s recruitment, collection and resource efforts, which include six sites in Louisiana and Mississippi (Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Morgan City, Hattiesburg, Meridian and Tupelo) and also serves communities in Alabama and Tennessee.
“I’m looking forward to leading the district and working with our teams who serve communities in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. My focus is on helping each team member realize his or her potential for growth and success,” Broussard said. “I’m passionate about the important role we play in the communities. I’m looking forward to getting more people more informed and on board with our efforts. For us, the bottom line is that we are here to serve.”
