Lots of music on tap for Morgan City's Rock the Fifth
Rock and Motown, barbecue and hamburgers, beer and soft drinks will all be part of Morgan City’s portion of the Rock the Fifth Independence Day celebration.
The celebration will be July 5. Morgan City and Berwick are making it a joint affair this year. Berwick recently announced its lineup, which begins at 5 p.m. and continues through the fireworks display over the water.
In Morgan City, the music lineup is:
—1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Driftwood, a local family band that plays classic rock, pop, country and swamp pop.
—3 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Beau Young Band, an Abbeville band that can play old school rock ‘n’ roll, country and zydeco.
—5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Krossfyre Band, a Lafayette group that can play styles from Fifties to Motown.
Also in Morgan City for Rock the 5th:
—The Tellman BBQ Team.
—Central Catholic High School’s hamburger booth.
—The Kid’s Corner.
—Soft drinks.
—The Main Street beer booth.
—The fireworks over the water to cap the evening.
Rock the 5th is sponsored by the city of Morgan City, the town of Berwick, Morgan City Main Street, and the Cajun Coast Visitors and Convention Bureau.
