Louisiana PARCC results: 30 to 40 percent score at mastery level

State Superintendent of Education John White announced Monday in a preliminary report 30 to 40 percent of Louisiana students scored at mastery level and above on PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) assessments. PARCC is also known as Common Core.

The preliminary report does not provide much data for school leaders to decipher as they now prepare for next year’s test.

“The information from the state is raw data,” said St. Mary Parish Superintendent of Schools Leonard Armato. “Not much to comment on. ...

“Everybody wants to get anything they can get right now because they have nothing,” said Armato.

The report only lists state data and grade level information. No specific school system information by parish is listed.
