My name is Sandra Sue Marshall and I am seeking a seat on the Patterson City Council. My husband, Lloyd, and I have resided in Patterson for the past 26 years and we have been married for 48 years. We have two sons, Trey Marshall and Sean Marshall, who are graduates of Patterson High School, and two daughters-in-law, Gina, a math teacher at Patterson High School, and Lesley, a stay-at-home mom. We also have four grandchildren, Schuyler, who attends kindergarten at Hattie Watts Elementary, Violet and Oliver who attend the 3-year-old classes at Immanuel Christian, and 4-month-old Max.
I’m a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson where I am a proclaimer, Eucharistic minister, member/secretary of the St. Joseph Parish Council and a member of the South Region Pastoral Council.
I retired from the St. Mary Parish School Board in May 2014, after teaching for 25½ years. I taught the 3- and 4-year-old special needs students at Hattie A. Watts Elementary for the entire 25½ years.
I’m a member of PEDSCO (Patterson Economic Development Sustainability Committee); Patterson Lower Atchafalaya Cultural District Committee – member/secretary; and the St. Mary Parish/Cajun Coast Tourist Commission – member/secretary.
I was formerly involved with AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) for approximately 15 years as a coach, referee, regional and area director; PHS Athletic Booster Club as a member, secretary, vice president and president; and former member of St. Mary Parish Council on Aging.
As you can see from the above I am and have been involved in a lot of activities and organizations in our community and parish. I care very deeply about Patterson and I want to see it succeed in all areas. Now that I am retired, I feel I have the time to devote to help make this happen. With your vote “Together” We Can Make A Difference. Vote No. 106 on Nov. 4.
