Meaux cold headed our direction
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The National Weather Service warned people from northwest Louisiana to the Mississippi Coast to gear up for another blast of cold.
Temperatures in the 50s and 60s are expected to plunge to freezing or below Sunday night in north Mississippi and Monday night in north Louisiana. Tuesday night, freezing air is expected to cover both states, with snow or freezing rain possible in central and southern areas.
In southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the worst weather is expected Tuesday afternoon and night. The National Weather Service says the greater New Orleans area and Mississippi Gulf Coast could see ice-glazed roads — though it's too early to be sure.
Icy roads led to at least three traffic deaths in south Mississippi and two in Louisiana on Saturday.
