Morgan City council to meet today

The City Council will meet at 6 p.m. today at the City Court Building.
Guests on the agenda include Woodrow Parker of the Aqua Safety First Program, Anthony Thibodeaux, candidate for district court judge, and Bo Duhe, candidate for district attorney.
Presentation of the city’s audit report, a surplus auction report, and a condemnation report of 1821 Dale St. and 113 Third St. are on the agenda. Discussion on authorization to proceed with the city’s wharf project and wastewater treatment plant improvements will also come before the council.
Resolutions to sign a mosquito control cooperative endeavor agreement with the City of New Orleans, to authorize signature of an agreement with the State of Louisiana to receive a $25,000 grant to pay for main water line valve replacement through the Local Government Assistance Program, to approve a request by the Louisiana Energy and Power Authority for a blanket easement for the construction of the Morgan City Power Plant located at 1333 Youngs Road, and to accept a bid tabulation for the Lake End Parkway cabins are on the agenda.
