New docks on Lake Palourde

Work was underway this morning on two 100-foot docks on Lake Palourde in front of the cabins at Lake End Parkway in Morgan City. Mayor Frank “Boo” Grizzaffi expected the docks to be complete and in use before the end of the summer, he said. The docks will serve the three cabins already in place at the parkway in addition to the three more cabins being built. The three new cabins are under construction and scheduled to be finished in November, Grizzaffi said. The city of Morgan City received $990,000 in state capital outlay funds to help construct the three new cabins and two docks, which cost about $1.1 million in total, the mayor said.
