One more night for La. Shrimp and Petroleum Festival

After a weekend filled with events, the 80th Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival concludes today with more live music, food and craft booths, and carnival rides. Visitors can purchase $25, pay-one-price ride bracelets today for sessions from noon to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The 38th Arts and Crafts Show and Sale will continue under the U.S. 90 bridge through 9 p.m. today.
The Heritage Music Stage in Lawrence Park will host live music with Southern Roots, Waylon Thibodeaux, Geno Delafose and Don Rich. There is no charge to get into the park.
Mitchell Brothers Carnival rides continue through 9 p.m. today.
A Cultural and Heritage Expo will be on display next to the festival office, located at 715 Second St., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
U.S. Coast Guard personnel were stationed around the festival ground Sunday at the Blessing of the Fleet in Berwick, Street Parade and Fireworks on the River. The Coast Guard was also at the festival static boat display in the park today at 11 a.m.
Saturday’s events included Children’s Day activities, the Cypress Corvette Club Car Show and gospel music at M.D. Shannon Elementary. On Sunday, Bishop Shelton Fabre of the Houma-Thibodaux diocese officiated Mass in Lawrence Park in Morgan City and the Blessing of the Fleet in Berwick. A Street Parade in downtown Morgan City was part of Sunday’s festivities in addition to the Children’s Village in Lawrence Park.
