Parish council meets Wednesday

Members of the St. Mary Parish Council will meet Wednesday in regular session at 6 p.m.
Items on the agenda include:
—Guests Tai Green to announce her candidacy for 16th Judicial District judge, Division G; Marc Distefano to discuss the “Fallen Warriors Memorial” project in Morgan City; Gidget Everitt and Dep. Lena Henry, Safe & Drug-Free Schools coordinators on behalf of the Red Ribbon Committee to request funds in the amount of $3,500 to assist with the 2014-15 Red Ribbon Drug-Free Week Campaign; Dean M. Wattigny to announce his candidacy for judge in the 16th Judicial District Court, Division A; and Thomas Dardar Jr. and Adam Crappel to appear before the Council to discuss the United Houma Nation.
—Presentation of the annual audit report by Guy Pitts of the Pitts and Matte accounting firm.
—Executive session to discuss the civil case – Garden City Apartments LLC and Lloyd Harris Jr. versus St. Mary Parish and St. Mary Parish Council
—Introduction of ordinances on a lease agreement with the United States Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol Inc. for lease of property at the Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport; reduction of the number of board members on the St. Mary Parish Water and Sewer Commission 1 from seven to five members; and on a zoning map amendment.
—Resolutions on agreements with LA Contracting Enterprise LLC and Acadiane’ Renovations Ltd. on construction projects at the West End Solid Waste Pickup Station; amended agreements with South Central Louisiana Human Services Authority on Claire House and Fairview Treatment Center services; an amended agreement with CB&I Government Solutions Inc. on the Point Chevreuil Shoreline Protection Project; endorsement of participation in the Enterprise Zone program by Wal-Mart; a change order on the courthouse flood proofing project by Acadiane’ Renovations Ltd.; support of the United Houma Nation’s efforts to obtain federal acknowledgement and the Interior’s proposed rule to reform the federal acknowledgment process; and a certificate of substantial completion on the Plantation Inn Pump Station project.
—Requests by Councilman Kevin Voisin to allocate $2,500 from the gaming fund to the “Fallen Warriors Memorial” Project in Morgan City; and David Hanagriff to allocate $4,000 from the Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 & 10 three-tenths sales tax fund to the Town of Baldwin for Pee Wee Football.
—Discussion and action on a funding request for materials, supplies and training for the development of mass causality capabilities from the Franklin Fire Department on behalf of the St. Mary Parish Fire Association.
