Patterson council will take up budget Tuesday

The Patterson City Council is scheduled to adopt its 2015-16 fiscal year budget at Tuesday’s council meeting.
The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.
The city’s fiscal year begins July 1. Mayor Rodney Grogan proposed a 5 percent across-the-board budget cut without losing any employees, he said. City accountant Reginald Weary projected the city’s expenditures to total about $9.4 million with roughly $2 million coming from state capital outlay funds to build the city’s new water plant.
Guests on Tuesday’s agenda include Lewis Pittman announcing candidacy for District Judge for Division D and Leslie Ageous.
New business to be discussed includes annual appointment of an official journal, introduction of an amendment to a zoning ordinance pertaining to mobile homes, action on Golino House demolition, a resolution to sell the contents of Golino House, submittal of proposal for improvement of Morey Park by the Lower Atchafalaya Cultural/Main Street commissioners, and a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a maintenance agreement including mowing and litter pickup with the state.
