Pre-prom presentation

St. Mary Parish Safe and Drug Free Schools representatives and Louisiana State Police were at West St. Mary High School last week in preparation for their prom night. In lieu of presenting a mock car crash with lights and sirens, they opted for a low key video presentation because some students were undergoing testing. The video was followed by Trooper Stephen Hammons of Louisiana State Police Troop I who spoke on what it’s like to deliver a death notification to the next of kin.
